Baseball Recap: Brother Martin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dunham last Tuesday, Brother Martin came back down to earth. The Brother Martin Crusaders fell just short of the Mandeville Skippers by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Brother Martin got a good showing from Drake Amedee, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Amedee gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Brother Martin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Kropp, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. What's more, Kropp posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brother Martin fell to 2-1. As for Mandeville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brother Martin beat Mandeville by a score of 6-2 on Saturday.
