Recap: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. DeSoto Eagles
The Cedar Hill Longhorns lost against the DeSoto Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cedar Hill suffered a rough 35-13 loss at the hands of DeSoto. While losing is never fun, Cedar Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while DeSoto is ranked first).
Despite the loss, Cedar Hill still got an impressive performance from Anthony Edwards, who threw for 191 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Marvin Duffey, who rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Duffey was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Darius Bailey, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Cedar Hill now has a losing record at 4-5. As for DeSoto, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Cedar Hill will head out on the road to face off against Mansfield Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Legacy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. DeSoto will take on Duncanville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Duncanville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
