Softball Recap: Old Orchard Beach Victorious

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Old Orchard Beach brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Richmond Bobcats 12-10. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Seagulls' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Old Orchard Beach's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Richmond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Richmond will venture away from home to challenge Vinalhaven at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Old Orchard Beach will be paying especially close attention to Richmond's matchup: after Richmond faces off against Wiscasset, they'll take on Old Orchard Beach again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
