Softball Recap: Caesar Rodney Comes Up Short

Caesar Rodney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Smyrna Eagles. If the Riders were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Caesar Rodney's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Smyrna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Caesar Rodney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-2 win against Delmarva Christian on the 9th. As for Smyrna, they will head out on the road to challenge Appoquinimink at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
