Basketball Recap: Brentwood Beats Gatewood for Their Third Straight Victory

Brentwood had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past the Gatewood Gators with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 74-56. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Gators two weeks ago, they had to take a 77-70 defeat.

Brentwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Robinson, who posted 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Cobb, who scored 22 points.

When it comes to explaining why Gatewood lost, don't look at Matt Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Allen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in each of the last 50 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaden Keiser, who had ten points and seven boards.

The win was the third in a row for Brentwood, bringing their record for this year to 20-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Gatewood, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.
