Baseball Game Preview: Piggott Mohawks vs. Hoxie Mustangs

The Piggott Mohawks will square off against the Hoxie Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Piggott will be strutting in after a win while Hoxie will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Piggott turned things around against Marmaduke on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Greyhounds. The Mohawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Hoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Harrisburg.

Hoxie's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Piggott, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Piggott couldn't quite get it done against Hoxie in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 as they fell 5-2. Can the Mohawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
