Big Foot hasn't had much luck against Stoughton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chiefs will take on the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Big Foot needed a bit of extra time to put away Brodhead/Juda. They had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chiefs have posted since May 17, 2024.

Connor Weeks was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Big Foot is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-6 otherwise. Weeks was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Weeks wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Ries, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI. Evan Henningfeld also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Stoughton's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Mount Horeb on Thursday. Stoughton walked away with a 6-3 win over Mount Horeb.
Like Big Foot, Stoughton also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaxson Nielsen. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Nielsen has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Saxton Wiest was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
With the victory, Big Foot broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Stoughton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Big Foot has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stoughton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Big Foot came up short against Stoughton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
