Basketball Recap: Skagway Takes a Loss

If Skagway was feeling good fresh off their 81-28 takedown of Angoon last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Skagway Panthers fell 48-40 to the Petersburg Vikings on Friday. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Skagway fell to 4-1. As for Petersburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Skagway will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hydaburg on February 2nd. As for Petersburg, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Craig at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Craig has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
