Shafter waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 19 straight wins... but they left with 20. They blew past the Kennedy Thunderbirds 3-0. The Generals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.
Shafter not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Kennedy between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.
Sydnee Macias paced Shafter's offense, picking up 16 kills. Macias got some help from Mikayla Villagomez and her 29 assists. Macias was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Shafter's victory bumped their record up to 24-1. As for Kennedy, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-12-2.
