Basketball Preview: University Phoenix vs. Orange Tornadoes
The University Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Orange Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in University's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games.
University pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Weequahic.
Meanwhile, Orange entered their tilt with the Comets with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Orange breezed by the Comets on the road to the tune of 74-47 on Saturday. Given Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Comets are ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
University has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
University came up short against the Tornadoes when the teams last played last Sunday, falling 66-60. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
