Baseball Recap: White Plains Comes Up Short

White Plains was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Handley Tigers. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

White Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Handley, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. White Plains will welcome Cleburne County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Handley, they will challenge Randolph County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Handley will need to watch out since Randolph County has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
