Softball Game Preview: Princeton Vikings vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

Princeton and Walnut Hills are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Princeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Princeton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Middletown with a sharp 24-4 win on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Middies recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Princeton got a massive performance out of Myona Burke, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. Those four runs gave Burke a new career-high. Alaya White was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with seven stolen bases, five runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Princeton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. They are 10-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Walnut Hills came up short against Loveland on Saturday and fell 12-8.

Princeton's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Walnut Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-22.

Princeton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Walnut Hills by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
