League recap: Southern Guilford paces 3A Mid-Piedmont with two wins over past week

3A Mid-Piedmont league recap: 3/27/13

Southern Guilford outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Storm beat East Davidson 2-1.

Northeast Guilford is currently tied with Asheboro for first place with a 3-0 mark during league play. The Rams have an overall record of 7-4 this season.

Ledford boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to 3A Mid-Piedmont's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Bubba White, who turned in seven Ks for the Panthers. With 13 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.



Duke Boger threw a shutout as he led Ledford to victory over Southwestern Randolph, 1-0, on Friday. He struck out six, allowing three hits.
