Basketball Recap: Marie Philip Beats Katzenbach School for the Deaf for Their Seventh Straight Win

Marie Philip put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 57-19 victory over Katzenbach School for the Deaf. The Galloping Ghosts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Marie Philip got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier DeLeon out in front who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points along with seven steals and six boards. DeLeon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 37 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Forfa, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Marie Philip smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Marie Philip's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Katzenbach School for the Deaf, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Marie Philip and American School for the Deaf will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Marie Philip has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 177 points over their last three games. Katzenbach School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
