Football Recap: Alex Bailey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Switzerland County over Tecumseh

After flying high against Brown County last Friday, Switzerland County came back down to earth. The Pacers took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tecumseh Braves on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Pacers, who until this game were averaging 14.25 points allowed.

Switzerland County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Bailey, who threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 54 yards. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 68 yards. Masin Stroud was Bailey's top target, picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Switzerland County's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Tecumseh, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Switzerland County will host Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tecumseh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
