With a playoff win on the line, Pleasant Valley rose to the challenge on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gaston Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by six runs or more this season.

Pleasant Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 35-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Gaston, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18-1.

Pleasant Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-5 defeat against Sand Rock on the 28th. Gaston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
