Baseball Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Magnolia couldn't beat Tyler on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Blue Eagles took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Conner Carpenter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Rydge Moffitt was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Magnolia's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Tyler, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnolia will venture away from home to take on Ritchie County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Eagles will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Tyler, they will square off against Beallsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
