Recap: Bradford Owls vs. Karns City Gremlins
The Bradford Owls''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Karns City on the road and fell 70-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bradford in their matchups with Karns City: they've now lost four in a row.
Bradford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Talan Reese, who threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jake Franz also helped out as he racked up 152 receiving yards.
Luke Cramer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Karns City, rushing for 183 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Cramer was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Braden Slater and his 83 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Karns City's win.
Bradford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Karns City, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradford will take on Kane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kane is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Karns City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Union is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
