Softball Game Preview: Brindlee Mountain Lions vs. Douglas Eagles

Brindlee Mountain is 0-10 against Douglas since March of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Brindlee Mountain Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Douglas Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Brindlee Mountain has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Brindlee Mountain is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Madison Academy, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, everything went Douglas' way against Arab on Thursday as Douglas made off with a 10-2 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.

Douglas' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Brindlee Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brindlee Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Douglas struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Brindlee Mountain might still be hurting after the 23-0 loss they got from Douglas when the teams last played last Monday. Can Brindlee Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
