Baseball Game Preview: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets

The White Knoll Timberwolves will challenge the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. White Knoll is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

White Knoll's last matchup with Chapin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Timberwolves lost 9-1 to the Eagles.

White Knoll saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Culley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Lower Richland can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Lee Central. The Diamond Hornets not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 18-2).

Trenden Moye made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Sumpter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Romari Randle, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Lower Richland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lower Richland's win bumped their record up to 4-10-1. As for White Knoll, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.
