Softball Recap: Western Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Western kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Huntington Huntsmen, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Huntsmen: they've now lost three in a row.

Western saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Whitley, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western will host Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Huntington, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Adams at 5:15 p.m.
