Flag Football Recap: Izzy Sholar Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Clayton

Cleveland won the last time they faced Clayton and things went their way on Friday too. The Rams came out on top against the Comets by a score of 14-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina flag football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Comets are ranked 38th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cleveland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Sholar, who threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.7% of her passes. A healthy portion of Sholar's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Avery Morgan.

The victory made it two in a row for Cleveland and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Clayton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

As of now, neither Cleveland nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
