Softball Recap: King's Academy Takes a Loss

The King's Academy Knights didn't have quite enough to beat the Willow Glen Rams on Friday and fell 2-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Katia Nesper spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, King's Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Bennette, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one double.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Willow Glen, the win keeps they at an undefeated 16-0-1.

King's Academy and Willow Glen should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Knights (ranked 173rd) will meet Carlmont (ranked 420th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Willow Glen will challenge Westmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 257).
