The Chanhassen Storm had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on Park Center with a sharp 78-52 win on Tuesday. With Chanhassen ahead 41-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Chanhassen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Ziembiec led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lauren Arnold, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals.
Chanhassen's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Park Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Chanhassen will head out on the road to face off against Prior Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Park Center, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Louis Park at 7:00 p.m.
