Baseball Recap: Lompoc Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lompoc walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Garces Memorial Rams on Friday.

Jack Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Lompoc's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Garces Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.

Looking ahead, Lompoc will take on Ridgeview at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight. Garces Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
