Football Recap: Sandhills Classical Christian Lions vs. Jones Trojans
After flying high against Father Capodanno back in August, Sandhills Classical Christian came back down to earth. The Sandhills Classical Christian Lions fell 32-20 to the Jones Trojans on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameren Mckinney, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Mckinney really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run. Gauge Goodman was another key player, rushing for 77 yards on only seven carries.
Sandhills Classical Christian dropped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jones, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandhills Classical Christian will take on Brunswick Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jones, they will challenge Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
