Softball Game Preview: Cedar Park Timberwolves vs. Rouse Raiders

The Cedar Park Timberwolves will face off against the Rouse Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Park has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 28 straight defeats, while Rouse will come in with four straight victories.

Cedar Park fell victim to Leander and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Timberwolves couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Rouse never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They came out on top against Hays by a score of 5-0.

The result came thanks to Blakely Barber's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ciana Arguijo, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eeva Chick, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Rouse pushed their record up to 13-8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Cedar Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
