Volleyball Recap: Isabella Steliga Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Munster

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westfield, Lake Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Munster Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lake Central took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-14.

Lake Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Steliga, who had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Steliga racked up 18 assists, the most she's had over her last eight matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Barth, who had 18 digs.

Lake Central's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Munster, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Lake Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against La Porte on the 16th. As for Munster, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Kankakee Valley on the 16th.
