Soccer Recap: Northside Comes Up Short

If Northside was riding high fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Fleming on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Glenvar Highlanders on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Glenvar are ranked 35th).

Northside has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Glenvar, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Northside didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Lord Botetourt on the 22nd. As for Glenvar, they have also already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Alleghany on the 21st.
