Volleyball Recap: Mounds View Comes Up Short

Mounds View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Branch Vikings. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in October of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mounds View's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Branch, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Mounds View has already played their next contest (against St. Michael-Albertville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Branch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Sauk Rapids-Rice on the 10th.
