Basketball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was the 60-45 winner over Marshall County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lawrence County Wildcats fell to the Marshall County Tigers 74-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Jabrae Howard, who went 12 for 21 en route to 29 points and six rebounds for Marshall County. Marcus Oneal was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and three steals.

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Marshall County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Lawrence County and Marshall County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Lawrence County will face off against Central Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 205 places (159 vs. 364). Meanwhile, Marshall County (ranked 97th) will meet Franklin County (ranked 340th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
