Softball Recap: La Costa Canyon's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

After losing to Grossmont the last time they met, La Costa Canyon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. La Costa Canyon came out on top against Grossmont by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Mavericks, who have now won four matches in a row.

Addy Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Rylan Williams was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Malia Whitehouse, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

La Costa Canyon's record now sits at 8-3. As for Grossmont, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7-1.

Looking ahead, La Costa Canyon is taking a road trip to square off against West Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games West Hills has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Grossmont, they will venture away from home to take on Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Grossmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
