Basketball Game Preview: Beecher Bobcats vs. Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers

The Beecher Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beecher will be strutting in after a victory while Bradley-Bourbonnais will be coming in after a defeat.

Beecher is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Grace Christian Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Beecher blew past Grace Christian Academy 62-38 on Monday. The Bobcats have beaten the Crusaders the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Bradley-Bourbonnais was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 59-21 defeat at the hands of Lincoln-Way East. While losing is never fun, the Boilermakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Griffins are ranked 71st).

Beecher's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-16. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their loss dropped their record down to 4-21.

Beecher took a serious blow against Bradley-Bourbonnais in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 60-32. Can Beecher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
