Volleyball Recap: Northside - Jacksonville Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Northside - Jacksonville and Havelock meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Monarchs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Northside - Jacksonville never let Havelock on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-10, 25-22.

Madyson Wills paced Northside - Jacksonville's offense, picking up 15 kills. Wills got some help from Sa'Niyah Serrano and her 25 assists. Alaana Mack controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Northside - Jacksonville's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Havelock, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coincidentally, Northside - Jacksonville and Havelock will both be playing Richlands the next time they take the court. The Rams will host the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Monarchs will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
