Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Beats Kearney for Their Fourth Straight Win

Lincoln East waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Kearney Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Lincoln East got a great performance from Jack Ohler as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Ohler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Senstock, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Troy Peltz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Lincoln East's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Kearney, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Lincoln East didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Lincoln Southwest on the 16th. As for Kearney, they will face off against North Platte at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
