Baseball Recap: Southern Maryland Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Wednesday. Southern Maryland Christian Academy fell 12-9 to Bishop McNamara. Southern Maryland Christian Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.

Marcus Blaqman was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Caden Cary was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season. Isaiah Priester was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5.

Southern Maryland Christian Academy's record is now 2-6. As for Bishop McNamara, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Maryland Christian Academy will host Fairfax HomeSchool at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop McNamara, they will welcome The Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
