Basketball Recap: North Kissimmee Christian Lions vs. West Melbourne Christian Academy

After a string of nine wins, the North Kissimmee Christian Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to West Melbourne Christian Academy 73-67. North Kissimmee Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

North Kissimmee Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Morales, who scored 17 points along with three steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Noel, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.

Emmanuel Michel was nothing short of spectacular for West Melbourne Christian Academy: he scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Michel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyire Biggs, who scored 18 points.

North Kissimmee Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-5. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

North Kissimmee Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Christian Learning Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Liberty Christian Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
