With a playoff win on the line, Monarch rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Deerfield Beach Bucks. The win was a breath of fresh air for Monarch as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Angelina Shamanaeva, which was the first she's scored this season.

Monarch's victory bumped their record up to 8-9-1. As for Deerfield Beach, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 10-7-2 record.

Looking ahead, Monarch will challenge Fort Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deerfield Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
