Baseball Game Preview: Central Bucks West Bucks vs. Oley Valley Lynx

The Central Bucks West Bucks will head out on the road to face off against the Oley Valley Lynx at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Central Bucks West has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Central Bucks West fell victim to North Penn and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Meanwhile, Oley Valley posted their closest win since March 25th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Schuylkill Valley 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Lynx in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Oley Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gryffin Cappellano, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Russell Leach also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Central Bucks West's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Oley Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Central Bucks West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Oley Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Central Bucks West was able to grind out a solid victory over Oley Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
