Volleyball Recap: El Capitan Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

El Capitan barely beat Grossmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The El Capitan Vaqueros were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Grossmont Foothillers on Friday. The Vaqueros haven't had any issues with the Foothillers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

El Capitan's got stronger as the match went on, holding Grossmont to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Nicholas Patterson paced El Capitan's offense, picking up eight kills. Patterson got some help from Jacob Marquez and his eight assists. Victor Beltran controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

El Capitan's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Grossmont, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, El Capitan will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grossmont, they will head out on the road to take on Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grossmont surely won't give up without a fight.
