Preview: Nottingham Northstars vs. North Hunterdon Lions
After two games on the road, Nottingham is heading back home. They will take on the North Hunterdon Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Nottingham pushed their score all the way to 69 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bordentown. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Nottingham came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Bordentown is ranked 294th).
Meanwhile, North Hunterdon lost to Hunterdon Central at home by a decisive 59-41 margin on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Hunterdon in their matchups with Hunterdon Central: they've now lost five in a row.
Nottingham's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for North Hunterdon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Nottingham was able to grind out a solid win over North Hunterdon in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 59-46. Will Nottingham repeat their success, or does North Hunterdon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
