Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

With a playoff win on the line, Calvary Baptist rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors 10-0. Considering the Cougars have won 14 matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Calvary Baptist got a massive performance out of Isabel Chatoney, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Chatoney has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. Brianna Even was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Calvary Baptist always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Calvary Baptist's seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.6 runs over those games. As for Desert Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

As of now, neither Calvary Baptist nor the Conquerors have any future games scheduled.
