Basketball Recap: Autaugaville Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Autaugaville was the 35-32 winner over Billingsley when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Autaugaville Eagles took a 41-24 bruising from the Billingsley Bears on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Billingsley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrica Motley, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Motley is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Jones, who posted four points in addition to 13 rebounds, eight steals, and six assists.

Autaugaville's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for Billingsley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Autaugaville will welcome Billingsley at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Billingsley, they will venture away from home to square off against Thorsby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
