Baseball Recap: Hartford Comes Up Short

If Hartford was feeling good fresh off their 21-10 takedown of Beaver Dam on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orioles came up short against the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes on Wednesday, falling 12-6. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Dukes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Aidan Kolb and Kaiden Romens stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kolb got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Romens went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Romens is becoming a predictor of Hartford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Hartford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Whitefish Bay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

While Hartford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
