Baseball Recap: Colonial Gets the Win

Colonial's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the University Cougars 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Grenadiers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Colonial's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sean Elliot, who went 3-for-4 with one run. The Grenadiers are undefeated when Elliot posts three or more hits, but 1-4 otherwise. Josiah Kolin was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Colonial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University struck out ten times.

The win got Colonial back to even at 4-4. As for University, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial will host Wekiva at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for University, they will look to defend their home field on the 12th against Freedom at 6:30 p.m.
