Recap: Edgewood Red Wolves vs. Cocoa Beach Minutemen
The Edgewood Red Wolves can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past Cocoa Beach, posting a 56-29 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Edgewood.
It was another big night for Alaina Preble, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Shelby Preble was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Cocoa Beach lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aariyah Robinson. Despite the final result, she scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylea Holland, who scored seven points.
Edgewood is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Cocoa Beach, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Edgewood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Edgewood is coming into the contest with 14 straight victories at home, so Melbourne is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Cocoa Beach, they will head out on the road to face off against West Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Shore comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
