Recap: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils
Even though the Mt. Carmel Sundevils scored an imposing 74 points on Saturday, the Cathedral Catholic Dons still came out on top. Cathedral Catholic walked away with an 82-74 victory over Mt. Carmel. Given Cathedral Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Mt. Carmel is ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ty Ingram, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. Patrick O'brien was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Cathedral Catholic's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Mt. Carmel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Cathedral Catholic and Mission Bay will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will head out on the road to face off against Helix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
