Softball Recap: Zane Trace Comes Up Short

Zane Trace and Piketon squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Zane Trace had to settle for second. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redstreaks. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Redstreaks: they've now lost four in a row.

Grace Lyon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Haylynn Boggess-Pierce, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Zane Trace's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Piketon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-4.

Zane Trace does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Piketon, they will take on Wheelersburg on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 25th straight win, something the Redstreaks surely won't give up without a fight.
