Softball Recap: West York Area Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, West York Area finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern York Golden Knights. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Golden Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maddie McGlynn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

West York Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Eastern York, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West York Area is set to square off against their familiar foe Susquehannock at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Eastern York will take on rival York Suburban at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
