Basketball Recap: Ah'mahn Oliver Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Point Loma + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mission Hills, Coronado was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-37 win over the Point Loma Pointers. This was a revenge game for the Islanders: when they faced off against the Pointers two weeks ago, they had to take a 60-45 defeat.

Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ah'Mahn Oliver, who posted nine points and seven boards. Oliver is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Roberto Soberanis was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 12 points.

Coronado was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Point Loma only racked up seven.

Despite the loss, Point Loma still got an impressive performance from Trevor Rutt, who earned six points and five rebounds. Rutt also posted two blocks, marking his first of the season.

The victory got Coronado back to even at 3-3. As for Point Loma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coronado has already played their next game, a 54-39 win against Mount Miguel on the 5th. As for Point Loma, they will take on Montgomery in a tournament on Monday. The Pointers' defense better be ready for this one: the Aztecs have averaged an impressive 56.3 points per game this season.
